For my first post I wanted to share a recipe that my Dad used to make for me and my siblings when we were little. Everytime I pull out my recipe drawer and see this recipe, oh how the precious memories of childhood emerge! Then I start drooling cause this stuff is FANTASTIC!
Ok we will start with the biscuits.
Cream Cheese Biscuits
2 cups Bisquick
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon (approximate) milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine Bisquick and cream cheese with a pastry blender. Add enough milk to moisten mixture. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to desired thickness. Cut out biscuits and place on greased/sprayed baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 miuntes or until browned.
Now that we have the biscuits in the oven we can make the gravy!
Chocolate Gravy
1/3 cup sugar
1 & 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 & 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1cup milk
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa, milk, and water. While stirring constantly, bring to a boil. Continue stirring until thickened. Stir in butter and vanilla.
I hope you and your family enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
xoxo
